What Should a New Client Know About Working with Virginia?

Virginia understands that therapy is a deeply personal journey. That’s why, from the moment you walk through the door, she works to create a strong, trusting relationship built on safety and respect. Therapy with Virginia is not just about listening; it’s about actively empowering you with tools and techniques you can use in your daily life.

You can expect to engage in practical strategies like relaxation exercises, grounding techniques, guided imagery, and cognitive reframing using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These tools are designed to help you manage stress, reduce anxiety, and shift negative thought patterns.

For clients who prefer a different approach, Virginia also offers Person-Centered Experiential Approaches to Therapy (PCEAT), focusing on self-discovery and personal growth within a supportive, non-judgmental space. Additionally, Virginia is happy to incorporate spiritual or faith-based approaches for clients who feel that their religious beliefs are an important part of their healing process.

Virginia's Process for Working with Clients

Virginia believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for effective therapy. That’s why she takes the time to build trust and connection with each client. Once that foundation is established, she introduces practical, evidence-based tools to help you gain control over your challenges. From relaxation exercises to understanding how your thoughts influence your emotions, she will guide you every step of the way.

For clients who prefer a more exploratory or non-directive approach, Virginia offers Person-Centered Experiential Therapy, allowing clients to discover their own path toward healing in a safe and supportive environment.

Her approach is flexible and compassionate, always adjusting to meet your needs, preferences, and goals. Whether you're looking for relief from anxiety or trauma, exploring your identity, or working through mood disorders, Virginia is committed to helping you find the right path forward.
